Oh wait, I'll be watching the same thing as always: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

The last new episode of Futurama aired tonight. I thought it was a good episode; worthy of a series finale.

Now I’m just wondering what I’ll watch on Sundays at 7PM. Oh wait, I’ll be watching the same thing as always: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Tonight was the first time I’ve actually been able to watch Futurama during it’s usual time slot in months. I still don’t understand why they condemned such a great show to such a horrible time slot? On the rare occasion that I did remember to watch it, it was most likely being preempted by football or something else. Of course, it’s easy enough to find the episodes online, but I’m pretty sure the networks don’t use BitTorrent statistics when they are planning what shows to renew for the coming season.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go have a drink to 5 great seasons.

Scapers are about the wackiest fans I've ever come across.

In just a few days my visiting TriniBabe and I will be off on our way to Chicago for ScaperCon 2003! She’s a big fan of Farscape (may it rest in peace) and so she’s flying into Miami and then we are renting a car and driving up to Chicago for 3 days of madness with our fellow Scaper friends.

I myself got into the show a bit late. Only started watching at the beginning of the fourth season. She kept trying to get me into the show, but I was stubborn as usual. Luckily, she finally convinced me (after numerous threats to do me bodily harm) and I quickly became a fan. Of course the show was canceled at the end of that season… Bastards!

Scapers are about the wackiest fans I’ve ever come across. Though, I guess that’s to be expected since the show was itself pretty insane. At first, I must admit, I was a little freaked out by the thought of being surrounded by a whole con’s worth of Scapers, but I guess now they’ve infected me and I’m starting to exhibit similar traits (help me!).

This is the first time I’ve ever driven so far by myself and I am seriously hoping I don’t get lost or kidnapped by cultists or whatever. My friend is not yet of age to legally drive a rental so she will be acting as navigator. She claims that she couldn’t read a map or decipher directions if her live depended on it, but I’m sure she’s just exaggerating. *gulp*

Couldn't they have wait for a slightly less inappropriate point in the episode to show us the goods?

Now, don’t get me wrong about Jennifer Garner. She is indeed a very attractive woman and the makers of Alias would be nuts not to use her amazingly well-toned body every once in a while to grab some of that sought after horny bastard ratings demographic, but it’s getting a little silly.

In tonight’s episode, for example, there was a scene in which Vaughn helps Sydney take off her dress, giving the viewers a perfectly framed shot of the aforementioned rack nestled ever so enticingly in a black bra. What weirded me out about the scene was that it took place immediately after the funeral for the wife of one of the show’s main characters.

Couldn’t they have waited for a slightly less inappropriate point in the episode to show us the goods?

It was just so absurd.

I just couldn’t stop laughing at the Farscape series finale tonight. John and Aeryn get turned into a little mountain of pellets after they decide to get married. It was just so absurd.

Of course, it was actually supposed to have been just the season finale, and next season we’d have witnessed their return to non-pellet form, but still, it was cool. I do wish they had taken the “To be continued…” bit out of the end. That way, in years to come, watchers not familiar with the shows early demise would have been left scratching their heads at the then infamous “pellet ending.”

Cool, the midnight repeat of the ep is coming on soon. Must go watch and laugh.

Oh well, I guess I can stay in this Friday night.

Oh well, I guess I can stay in this Friday night. Two new shows that may possibly force themselves into my weekly TV routine. Well, that and I haven’t got a single other thing to do.

Firefly was cool; definitely something I’ll watch again. The ending especially had me laughing. You gotta love Joss Whedon. Apart from those times you’re hating his guts, of course.

I am in the middle of watching John Doe right now, and if the fact that I am multi-tasking here with my blog is any indication, I’m not entirely pleased with the show.

It seems like an interesting enough premise. Shows and movies about amnesiacs have always appealed to me, but annoying actors can ruin anything. What’s with these people. Does everything feel so rushed because it’s the pilot and they are trying to throw in something for everyone? They have got to slow things down just a tad.

Would someone please smack the lead character across the head when he goes into another one of those fact fits?

Do computers not seem high tech enough on screen if they aren't making all sorts of noise?

I am currently in the middle of watching a few episodes of the TV series 24 on FX. They’re having a 24 hour marathon to mirror the 24 hour episodes in the series.

Something puzzles me about the computer monitors that everyone uses on the show. They all seem to make a buzzing sound as they load pictures and data. This got me thinking and I realized that this is a very common effect in many shows and movies that I can remember.

The sound itself changes depending on the show or the type of computer. Often, it sounds very much like a flatbed scanner, although maybe a bit more shrill.

What is the purpose of this sound? Do computers not seem high tech enough on screen if they aren’t making all sorts of noise? Most people watching tv or movies nowadays are likely to know that computers don’t make all these sounds when loading images on screen.

I know I’d be pretty upset if my monitor made that much noise.
